US restaurants
- Wondee Siam I, New York - Authentic Thai food in Manhattan (Thais were eating there). I asked the cook to "make me cry" with the spice level in my green curry with chicken and he happily obliged. Although spicy, it was the best Thai curry I have ever had. On second visit, spice level was reduced although it was due to the crowd of spice haters I was dining with.
- Craft, New York – The best meal I’ve had in North America. Service disappointing considering $400 bill. This food is shared tapas style. Get the mushroom plate.
- Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas - Regarded as the best Thai in the US but Wondee Siam I in Manhattan was slightly better. Definitely must be visited if in Vegas.
- Sushi Sam's, near San Francisco - Unbelievable sushi omikase experience with the freshest and best seafood I have ever tasted.
- BLT Steak, New York - Awesome steaks but even better bread. Oysters and smoked bacon were great appetizers but skip the mushroom and vegetable side dishes. Atmosphere was more casual than I expected thanks to the B&T clientele.
- Kokkari, San Francisco - Excellent Greek food but you pay a steep price for the nice atmosphere. I was amazed by the abundance of fighette at this restaurant.
- Lebanese Taverna, Baltimore - Excellent Fusion Lebanese cuisine in trendy Fells point.
- The Helmand, Baltimore - Very tasty Afghan cuisine. Nice atmosphere but given that it's Bmore, they kick you to the curb after 10pm.
- Tanuki Tavern, New York - Outstanding Japanese tapas, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service. Check out the club on the top floor for interesting after-dinner enjoyment.
- Mayflower, San Francisco - Excellent Cantonese Seafood restaurant. Bus. card
